About Me

Ey up! My name's Marcus, aka Marco. I'm born and raised in the North York Moors, growing up in Battersby Junction, at the heart of the National Park. Here, I spent my childhood outside, playing hide and seek across miles of land, building dens, camping out, and riding bikes.

Being surrounded by views, moorland, and local trails sparked my interest in the outdoors and mountain biking, from riding banger bikes and pulling wheelies with friends. My mum, who competed in cycling and running events around the world, instilled my sense of adventure, taking us all over the place. No doubt, I thank her for my need to ride years later. The freedom and satisfaction of exploring trails is unmatched, especially amongst the mayhem of modern life. For me, it's the ideal escape. 

Since then, I've branched out a fair bit, working locally as an LSA for secondary school children with SEN, Outdoor Instructor in Norfolk and Croatia, English Teacher in China, and achieving a degree in PE and Outdoor Education at Leeds Beckett University, then most recently as a Bike Shop Manager and Mountain Bike Guide in North Yorkshire.

Fast forward, and Moors with Marco is born. Based near Osmotherley, I want to share my love and knowledge for mountain biking with you, showcasing this stunning landscape on two wheels.
